Great first Omakase experience. Lots of the fish were flown in fresh from Hokkaido, Japan. The only menu items that seemed repetitive were the sashimi, but all other dishes were unique. Great flavors and visual presentations of the courses. The full course menu was filling and it was more than enough food for a full meal. The price was affordable compared to other local omakase places. Be aware that you are seated at the chef's counter with other diners, so it's not a private dining table and space is somewhat tight. There was no purse hook and I had to keep it on my lap.

AMAZING! The chef was so attentive with us, and each creation was more delicious than the other one. It took about 2 hours total, and surprisingly I was filled at the end. We got the grand omakase so it was great. Also got the sake flight. The space was great. Very beautiful and super elegant. I would recommend this to anyone! More on the affordable side, but still pretty expensive overall. Would recommend for a very special occasion.

Came here for my birthday and Father's Day! I was excited to try Hinata because my friends enjoyed their omakase experience. The outside is low-key and hidden, making it initially confusing to find the door. The staff was friendly and attentive! The ambiance was slightly upscale, with a large bar seating area and tables. We ordered the $125 omakase experience and were seated at the bar. We also got the $41 supplements of Hokkaido Sea Urchin, Otoro, and A5 BMS12 Wagyu. We had multiple courses of premium sashimi, nigiri (10 pieces), and seasonal ingredients. Every nigiri piece was fresh, but Otoro, Chu-toro, Snapper, and Trout Belly were my personal favorites. We ended dinner with their homemade hojicha soft serve and a little birthday card. Overall, it was a great special occasion spot, and I would come back again.

Just left enthralled by this place since it was my first Omakase. I left with no complaints. Every piece of fish was beautifully attended to: nice cuts, no foul smell, no bad after taste, and executed perfectly. I have made a list below of all the fish they used. Nothing missed. The best four were the toro, barracuda, trout belly, and pacific mackerel. My least favorite happened to be the scallop, which I normally love. - [x] Striped jackal - [x] Flounder - [ ] Scallop - [x] Red snapper - [x] Trout belly - [x] Pacific mackerel - [x] Knifejaw snapper - [x] Baby barracuda - Yuju - [x] Medium tuna belly - [x] Chopped tuba belly The outside is low key so you may missed it (like us), but when you enter the restaurant, the aesthetic is simple and refined. The waiters take you through every step of the menu and cater to your preferences. As always, it's dope to see the chefs work their crafts and curate each piece like art. MUST GO!

Hinata is an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped in, I knew I was in for a special experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They kept the counter spotless, ensuring a comfortable and elegant dining environment. The ambiance was perfect for an upscale experience, with dim lighting creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The best part? The price! Hinata offers a luxurious omakase experience without breaking the bank. They have two omakase options, an $85 and a $125. My friend and I opted for the full experience and went with the $125 omakase. It was a true culinary journey, starting with a beautiful selection of zensai (appetizers): crab, umaki (rolled egg omelet), ebi (shrimp), and hotaru ika (firefly squid). The appetizers were beautifully presented, and each bite was a burst of flavor and a testament to the high-quality ingredients. Umaki and crab were my personal favorite. Next came the sashimi, three perfectly sliced pieces of kanpachi (amberjack), umi masu (ocean trout), and the star of the show - bluefin tuna. The freshness was unparalleled, and the melt-in-your-mouth texture was divine. The omakase continued to impress with the next dish- gindara glazed black cod. This dish was cooked to perfection - flaky and flavorful with a touch of sweetness from the glaze. Then came the truffle & uni, a decadent combination that combined the earthy notes of truffle with the rich creaminess of uni (sea urchin). Following this indulgence, the sawara (smoked king mackerel) provided a refreshing change of pace. The smoky flavor was perfectly balanced, and the fish itself had a lovely texture. Now, let's talk about the main event: the nigiri selection. The chef curated a selection of 10 premium pieces, each showcasing a different type of fish. From the delicate striped jack (shima aji) to the fatty tuna (toro), every bite was a revelation. The chef was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, explaining each piece with enthusiasm. We even had some fun conversations throughout the meal, adding to the overall experience. Our 10 piece nigiri selection included - 1. Striped jack (shima aji) 2. Japanese red snapper with ume shiso 3. Hokkaido Scallop with lemon juice and crystal salt 4. Golden eye snapper with citrus pepper 5. Flounder (hirame) with engawa 6. Ishidai knifejaw snapper 7. Sui aji (jack mackerel) 8. Kamasu (japanese baracuda) 9. Dry aged medium fatty tuna 10. Negi toro Every nigiri piece was delightful, but golden eye snapper, dry aged medium fatty tuna, knifejaw snapper, and Hokkaido Scallop were my personal favorites. Jack mackerel was good, but not as good as the other pieces. With each omakase experience, you also get the option to add a la carte nigiri pieces or uni trio or other supplements for an additional charge. I tried their akamutsu (Rosy seabass) and o-toro nigiri from the a la carte menu. It goes without saying that the o-toro was delicious. I definitely wanted more, but I had to go easy on my wallet. Akamutsu was good, too, but nothing compared to o-toro (personal preference). Our omakase ended with a warm and comforting owan (miso soup) in red miso, followed by a house-made dessert. While the hojicha soft serve was flavorful at first, the coldness did numb the taste buds a bit towards the end. Still, it was a fitting conclusion to a fantastic meal. Overall, Hinata exceeded my expectations in every way. They were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The friendly service, cozy ambiance, and exceptional omakase make it a hidden gem. If you're looking for an upscale dining experience without the hefty price tag, Hinata is the perfect place.

Came here for a Valentine's Day dinner early and what a cool omakase experience! We got the grand experience. Good: - We got seated right in front of the chef so got to talk to him as he made the sushi in front of us - Good amount of food - there was some appetizers and dessert and a lot of nigiri - Super nice service and the fish was all so so fresh and tasty - Romantic ambiance inside, its dim and quiet for catchups Bad: - expensive! Overall it was a great date spot and a really nice vibe.

We had a reservation for their grand omakase, so we were seated at the counter. Overall experience was pretty great. Ambiance of the place was quiet since it's a small restaurant. I noticed that the chef tend to hand the items to the ladies (there were two of us, sitting pretty far from each other) first before handing it to the guys in our group. My favorite from the omakase was their nigiri (especially the scallop and toro - it's so soft!). They do allow you the choice of picking more a la carte nigiri before clearing the space for the broth and the dessert. I kept the origami paper that came with the first dish & managed to complete making a butterfly by the time the 3rd dish was ready.
